"Such worthless
creatures,"Lilith said, letting the curtain drop from her grasp. "Not
worth my
attention really. You on the other hand, you will fit my needs very
well indeed."
Snake turned and ran, the light
following each move. He found the tent wall. His hand grabbed at the
canvas, searching for the entrance. He found none. Snake tried to pull
up on the heavy cloth, hoping to make his exit underneath, but it
seemed bolted to the ground.
"Why run?" Lilith said, now
standing directly behind him. "You wanted to be with me. Now here you
are. And here you will stay."
"We’ll see about
that," Snake said, raising his fist. Before he could strike, a loud
hiss came from his hand. His snake tattoo moved then rose up off his
arm. The snake hissed and wrapped itself around the man’s
forearm–squeezing tight with each coil.
It bit.
The burning pain flowed up
Simon West’s arm. He dropped to one knee. The pain swiftly
moved through his body, through his legs and other arm. His hand and
wrist began to throb.
"I can’t move my
arms," Snake cried out.
"What arms?" she said, her
voice was cold and sharp.
His flesh crackled and dried.
His arm thinned and withered as if being sucked dry. Snake screamed as
his limbs finally crumbled into dust.
"What ar-r-e you doing to meee?"
The small town of Arkham awakes
to find a traveling carnival outside its borders. Lilith's Carnival
seems a simple diversion. Or is it–for those special enough
to receive a red ticket? It's good for any show, but of course, it's
their choice to use it–it's always their choice.
Sheriff Jim McNee finds it odd
a carnival would appear overnight. The owner, a tall, black haired,
beauty, explains that in the darkness they simply took a wrong road
and, since she loves playing to small towns, decided to setup. However,
the disappearance of several townspeople and the brutal death of one
teenaged boy soon cast a dark cloud over the carnival.
Johnny Solom, a man on the run,
convicted for the disappearance and assumed murder of his girlfriend,
followed the trail back to Lilith's Carnival, the last place he saw her
alive. Johnny doesn't know of the dark evil that awaits
him–an evil that could consume him–an evil that
knows who he is.
These men, destined to
meet–one man running from the law, the other is the
law–both have one thing in common: discovering the secret of
the Dark Carnival.
"...a mesmerizing storyline. ...a magnificent story
that is brimming with plot, characters and action. Dark Carnival is a
delicious tale of terror and the unnatural. It is a tale filled with
evil, innocence and the supernatural."
